In the past year of working with the team from Pack-A-Drum, all 24 of our McDonald’s have saved over $265,000 per year. We have also started to recycle all of our cardboard due to the systems and training they implement with our team. We were throwing away over 2 tons of cardboard per store per year to the landfill which has all been diverted to a recycling center. With our current tonnage of cardboard of 576 per year recycled we are helping save over 80,064 trees per year and reduce CO2 by 320.256 tons. They help our team & guests understand the importance of recycling by producing educational training right on the dumpster… our stores have never looked cleaner and more organized in the back of the house.
We were able to save a lot more money than they projected from areas we did not even think were trash related from our implementing the Pack-A-Drum processes. Our workers comp charges went down after working with Pack-A-Drum for the last couple of years. The process of moving trash cleanly and safely was a game changer for our stores. We stopped pressure washing our dumpster corrals as they were clean… not like before with per month cleanings.
Our energy and waste costs were going up year after year until we started working with the team from Pack-A-Drum. Now we are saving on our trash over 51% resulting in $85,675 per year in our 4 Wendy’s restaurants. Our energy is the next target and looking to reduce HVAC electrical by 37% with thousands of dollars in savings.
